I also tried exploring the Queensland records but was unable to make any connections.
I did notice the following:
Death registration:
Catherine May Dunbar
Death date: 30/12/1933
Mother's name: Mary Ann Glynn
Father/parent's name: Michael O'Loughlin
Registration details: 1934/C/944
This of course may be pure coincidence, but perchance it rings a bell with you.
The timing of the "information wanted" notice makes me think that with Mary O'Loughlin approaching 80 years of age and possibly in failing health, the family made one last ditch attempt to make contact with her daughter Bridget.

Hi Murf,
Yes, it's frustrating that there seems to be no record of Bridget in Australia. I can only hope for a DNA match in the future. I feel the same about the timing of the ad, Mary died 2 years later and I am pretty sure she never found out what happened to Bridget. Of course there was also the hint from her obituary about American connections. I will try to find something there.
Thanks for that record, certainly something to bear in mind considering the surnames. You'd think there must be some sort of connection, another line to research!
Thanks again for your help Murf, much appreciated.
