Here attached is my transcription of Rath and Kilnaboy marriages 1818 – 1844. On many occasions I have made a good guess at the surnames and placenames – please refer also to the original http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls0 ... 1/mode/1up
I have also attached the Letters of Freedom that were issued by the Rath-Kilnaboy parish 1822 – 1838. In order for a man to marry a woman in another parish, he needed a letter of freedom from his parish priest to go to her parish priest. This was to show that he was not married already. I’m sure that these letters continued to be issued from 1838 – 1844, but these were not noted in the marriage register.

Edited Nov. 11, 2017 to include columns for page number (as online) and for entry numbers. I also included page 33 (left side), which I found I had omitted in my first transcription, and included the letters of freedom in page 33 in the Letters of Freedom attachment.
The transcription, which was attached here, has been transferred to Donated Material: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclar ... inaboy.htm

How wonderful to have these Sheila - thank you so much for this "labour of love". I hope your eyesight is still in tact! Is it going to be posted to the "What's New" at the Library sight, so more people can find your efforts?

In my posting above re transcription of Kilnaboy marriages 1818 – 1844, I wrote: "I have also attached the Letters of Freedom that were issued by the Rath-Kilnaboy parish 1822 – 1838. I realize now that these letters of freedom for 1839 -1843 were indeed recorded. They are list on page 50, 51 (online) of the marriage register for 1859-1862: https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls ... 1/mode/1up
The bride-to-be is not given, which is a pity, but the list of men getting married in another parish may contain a crumb of information that’s useful to somebody, so I’ve attached my transcription of that list of letters of freedom.
