John and Michael are stated to be the sons of Matthew Hannon, who settled in Wollongong. John, b. 1818, married Ann Cunneen there. This information comes from Wendy Nunan's book Wollongong Old Roman Catholic Burial Ground, accessible on the Mormon Library's website for family histories.
