Clare Freeman, Sat 9 Nov 1878:
Methodist Chapel, Ennis. This chapel, which has been in a very dilapidated state for some time past has undergone extensive repairs, at a cost of over £23, and was re-opened on last Sunday, 3rd instant, by the Rev Thomas Greer Resident Missionary. It was erected some sixty years ago by the Rev Gideon Ousely and Mr John Leech father to the late Mr James Leech of Church street whose representatives are still amongst the warmest supporters of Methodism in this town. Communicated. (The repairs, &c, were executed by Mr D Shank, Builder, Causeway – Ed.).
