Clare Freeman, Sat 1 Mar 1879:
At Kilrush Petty Sessions on Monday the presiding Magistrates were N S O’Gorman (in the chair), B Cox, and B Butler, Esqrs. A lad named Casey, son of a travelling tinker, was convicted of stealing a donkey’s winkers the property of Major Studdert, and sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment, and at the expiration thereof to be sent to Upton reformatory for 5 years.
