New church for Connolly, 1878

Clare Freeman, Wed 14 Aug 1878:
A New Roman Catholic Church is about to be erected at Conolly, parish of Kilmaley, in this diocese, towards which the Rev Mr Burke, P.P. has subscribed £100. The work has the good wishes of the Bishop, the Most Rev Dr Ryan; and his lordship, as well as the parish priest, will gratefully receive any offerings that may be forwarded for the purpose. Conolly is a district lying about midway between Ennis and Miltown Malbay, and, distant and secluded though it is, has many objects of historical and romantic interest to claim and fix the attention of tourist and antiquarian.
