SheilaReception of Nuns at Ennis Convent. The solemn and interesting religious ceremony of a religious profession was witnessed at 8 o’clock on Thursday morning, at Ennis Convent. Three young ladies, Miss Corcoran, Tipperary, niece of the Rev Mr Maher, C C, Drumkerin; Miss Kelly, Cooraclare, niece of the Rev Matthew Kenny, P P, Scariff; and Miss Murry, Westmeath, niece of Rev Mr Carberry, O P, Superior of the Dominican Friary, Limerick, adopted a religious life, professed themselves as nuns, and were received into the Ennis Convent. Among the numerous attendance of friends present on the occasion were – His Lordship the Most Rev Dr Ryan, R C, Bishop of Killaloe; the Rev Michael Quinlivan, P P, Ballinacally; the Rev J Vaughan, P P, Doora; the Rev Mr Nagle, P P, Inagh; the Rev Michael O’Meehan, P P, Carrigaholt; the Rev Mr Carbery, O P, Limerick; the Rev Mr Maher, C C, Drumkerin; the Rev J Macmahon, C C, Quin; Rev L Hannen, C C, Clare; The Rev P Murray, C C, Doora; the Rev J Fogarty, C C, Ennis; the Rev P White, C C, Ennis. An eloquent and impressive discourse having been delivered by the Rev Mr Quinlivan, His Lordshop celebrated mass after which he proceed with the ceremony assisted by the Rev Mr White. After the sacred ceremonial the numerous friends were entertained at an elegant and hospitable dejeuner at the convent.
