Clare Journal, Mon 17 Jun 1872:
Photographs of Local Views. We have had submitted to our notice photographs of local views and groups, executed by Mr Smith [Smyth], photographer, at present a resident in Ennis. One was a clear and true photographic view of the front of Stammer House; the second a view of the old Abbey, and the others, groups of Mr Barnes’ pupils. They are all good pictures and truly and tastefully finished.
