Another addition to Clare men in U.S. Civil War, now online

Continuing in my effort to identify soldiers of the U.S. Civil War (1861-1865) who were born in Clare, there are now more than 60 new additions to the existing database at the indicated link to the Library website. As usual, I have a few gleaned from my own reading but this set was greatly added by Ancestry.com's search engine for an existing Illinois State military muster database. Also I should mention that Paddy Waldron sent along a good handful of prospects, always appreciated although only one could be verified at this time (I need to see Clare and an exact military unit, from reliable contemporary sources). In the below list, there are the brand new ones plus a few that have been augmented from additional record sources.

As ever, it is the Local Studies Centre's willingness to host this database that is the most essential factor in its being available to us all.

Thanks so much for putting together this database.
I don’t see the name of my cousin on this list - Captain William McMahon O’Brien.
Did you need additional information on his service or birthplace?
Please let me know.
Susan

Susan,

Yes, I have what I need to include your O'Brien in this soldier database and now it is just a matter of time before I submit a group of new listings to the Library. Thanks for your patience.
