It is my sad task to inform you that Clare descendant Ellen Crehan died March 15th in Tasmania, Australia, after a brief but intensive illness defying treatment. Her husband Tony has said that she remained mentally sharp to the end, and I know she would have continued to cheer us on in our efforts to discover our Clare roots. A link to one of her past postings here illustrates her deep interest in resources being available for us all. RIP, Ellen.

I am sorry to hear of the death of Ellen. She was very helpful to me back in 2014 when I needed help with finding the obituary of a relative who died in Nambour, Queensland - it wasn't viewable online. It was Paddy Casey who helped me to contact her. I didn’t hold out much hope when he said that she was living in Tasmania. But she had such a wide circle of Geni friends, she was able to contact someone in Nambour and in no time at all the obituary arrived. I never got to repay the kindness.
