Irish nicknames used in Buffalo NY 1800s

In poking around the Internet for more info on my Makowski family of Buffalo NY, I encountered a website describing a fairly new book on Buffalo's First Ward (down by the water), a magnet for immigrants due to work on the wharves. The author has provided a unique list of nicknames for men of that ward:

Look for your Clare immigrant and perhaps you will pick up an interesting new fact about him.

Thank you Sharon for this most interesting list.
If anyone can inform me what first name is designated by the male nickname or pet-name Lott, I would be most grateful

Hi Polycarp
The name Lott is discussed on this forum under “La(u)ncelot(t)e = Lot(t)” :

My own feeling is that Lott was a substitute for an Irish name which was already out of use by the 19th century. I suspect that Lancelot was an attempt at standardising Lott at a time when the original Irish name was either forgotten, or no longer considered desirable. But I’ve absolutely no evidence to support this theory.
