Kilnoe Marriages and Baptisms 1832-1881

Post by Sduddy » Fri Oct 27, 2017 10:11 am

Here is my transcription of Kilnoe marriages 1832 – 1883: https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls ... 1/mode/1up

As with almost all the parish registers, there are some chunks of time when no entries were made* – mostly weeks or months, but in the 1840s there are four years missing (Nov. 1844 – May 1848).

I can't post Kilnoe baptisms at the moment. I am getting a message saying the board attachment quota is full.

There’s nothing to say so, but this has all the appearance of a transcription of the original register. This makes the register easy to read, but means that there is an extra layer of mistakes: the mistakes made by the first transcriber is added to the mistakes made by the priest, who was probably sometimes hard of hearing, or mistakenly transposed the name of a parent with that of the child, and my own mistakes.

Again there is a large gap in the entries in the 1840s (May 1844 - Aug 1847).
