Clareabbey-Killone Parish Records pre 1853

Hi,
Many years ago (1985) a relative of mine had the Clare Heritage Centre do some research into our ancestors. The known ancestors lived in Parish of Killone (Catholic parish Clareabbey-Killone).
The Clare Heritage Centre found a baptism, possibly our ancestor in the Clareabbey-Killone parish records in 1839. However, the registers for this parish filmed by the National Library of Ireland and now available online only start in 1853.
We have emailed the parish (now called Clarecastle-Ballyea) and are awaiting a reply but I thought I would ask on the forum if anyone happens to know the whereabouts of the earlier register/s. Are they in the possession of the Parish or are they somewhere else (which might be the reason they weren't filmed)? It would be good to be able to see the register/s for ourselves.
