Liscannor parish Marriages and Baptisms

Post by Sduddy » Thu May 04, 2017 9:45 am

Here attached is my transcription of Liscannor parish marriages, 1866 – 1884: http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls0 ... 1/mode/1up.
It is a transcription of a transcription made by a Fr. Fahey in 1913 - the original register has not survived. All the question marks are his.

And here is my transcription of Liscannor marriages, 1873 – 1881, for some reason made in a separate register, which has survived: http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls0 ... 1/mode/1up. This time the question marks are mine.

Here attached is my transcription of Liscannor baptisms, 1843 – 1854: http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls0 ... 1/mode/1up. Again this is a transcription of the transcription made by Fr. Fahey in 1913. The original register has not survived. The question marks are all his.

I have added “wife of” to a large number of entries made in the 1850s, so that anyone looking under the column headed “Mother’s Surname” will understand that, during that period, the surname given was not the mother’s own name, but that of her husband. However, in an area where there were so many people bearing the same surname, there are bound to be some cases where the name was that of both parents.
