Here attached is my transcription of Rath and Kilnaboy marriages 1859 – 1862. There will be mistakes, so please refer to the original http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls0 ... 1/mode/1up

Sheila

Edited Nov. 11, 2017 to include columns for page number (as online) and for entry numbers.
Edited May 01, 2018 to add file for marriages-by-groom.

I deleted the attachments on Apr 04, 2019, in order to make space for my transcription of Kilmihil Marriages and Baptisms. But they have not disappeared - they are in "Donated Material" on clarelibrary.ie: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclar ... inaboy.htm

Sheila,

From one parish transcriber to another, this is a really topnotch job. Well done, providing a lot more than what is otherwise online via the NLI films directly (although having those available is a great advance also) and the various commercial services with search engines. A transcription like yours benefits from being done by a fully-invested person familiar with the names and seeing the handwriting over the decades. Kudos to you for sharing all of that, including additional files organized by bride/groom and sorted by surname.

Terrific job Sheila. A quick browse through the original microfilm reveals that this was no easy task. Your tenacity and dedication are to be admired. No doubt you have gained considerable expertise as a Latin translator by now!
In the meantime I have signposted these two posts in the Transcribers Register above, which may help to offset them losing prominence.

Thanks Kerry, Sharon and Murf for your kind and encouraging comments. Murf, you can put my name down for the Rath-Kilnaboy baptisms please. I won't take so long this time.

That's great Sheila, I have added that to the register. The last part of the marriage register is certainly chock full of information - a most valuable resource for genealogists. The marriage register will now be useful in resolving many of the more difficult baptism entries. I found that the civil birth records can also help in the later years.
Good luck with that
