This topic has no doubt already been raised on the forum, but a search did not turn up any items. Can earlier back copies of The Other Clare journal be purchased? I am particularly interested in :
*Murchadha, Ciarán: ‘Where are the people gone to?’ County Clare 1850–1852, The Other Clare Volume 26 (2002)
*Ó Murchadha, Ciarán: The bad times in Clare: emigration and aftermath, 51-60. The Other Clare Volume 27 (2003)
*Haugh, Dominic: The agri labourer in Irish society, 67-72. The Other Clare Volume 32 (2008)
*McMahon, Anne: The rural poor in Clare before the Great Famine, 16-22. The Other Clare Volume 34 (2010)
*Cronin, Maura: Review of Ciarán Ó Murchadha's The Great Famine: Ireland's agony 1845–1852, 53. The Other Clare Volume 36 (2012)

Kerry,
see http://www.clareheritage.org/the-other-clare/
for
"The 39th volume was published in July, 2015, under the editorship of Dr Terri Shoosmith. Copies of recent issues of The Other Clare are available in many bookshops throughout Clare, Limerick and Galway for the price of €10. Current and back issues are available by post from Peter Wise at €12.50 on the island of Ireland or €15 overseas (including postage). Email him at here. (peter.wise.ie@gmail.com)
The 2016 edition of the journal is already under preparation and is expected to be published in late Spring or early Summer. The editor, Dr Terri Shoosmith, has much of the material for volume 40 already sourced, but any potential contributors to the journal are still in time to contact her by email here. Re: The Other Clare journal back copies
I know of another source for photocopies of The Other Clare articles, which is certainly good for U.S. and Canadian researchers. Since the source, Allen County Public Library, Fort Wayne, Indiana, is now known worldwide for its genealogy center, there is a possibility that copies can be mailed overseas due to volume of inquiries already made. It doesn't hurt to ask. Getting just the articles lowers the price considerably from buying whole issues of the periodical. That library has long had as its mission acquiring any publications helpful for genealogy, which are housed in a first-class facility. I read The Other Clare there, so I know they have it, which can be confirmed by consulting the online catalog.

BTW, the collection to which this is related is PERSI, a resource that far outdates Cyndi's List and other finding aids on the Internet. It was devised during that time when all research was done with hard-copy materials, scattered in libraries and other repositories. PERSI is a huge indexing of all that has been published on discrete topics, whether that is a family or a locale. It is a great resource even now, because those publications are still relevant and those are all in the Allen County Public Library, a mecca for any serious researcher in the U.S. I went there to see the Montreal 1861 census on film, for a part of it not filmed by LDS/Mormons.

Thank you McReed and Sharon for your replies. I will follow up. Although the ordering of full copies of each edition makes it very expensive to send to Oz - with the $A a bit sick atm!
