Does anyone know the names of the newspapers that were publishing obituaries in the Ennistymon area in the 1870s and 1890s?
Thanks!

A search with the terms Ennistymon + obituary at www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk turns up several Ennistymon death reports from around that time or shortly before. Several of the reports were long enough to qualify as obituaries.

www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk is a sort of cornucopia of Clare news reports, some of them from newspapers in distant parts of England and Scotland.

Yes and yes. It's an absolute treasure trove. Dangerous, in fact. Once you get into it you may find it difficult to stop delving and browsing. Other commitments might suffer.

Consider subscribing for a month at a time, i.e. pick a month when you are going to have plenty of time for research and subscribe for that month. There's just one caveat: when you subscribe for a month it defaults to an automatic renewal of the subscription at the end of the month so do go into the Settings and uncheck that option.
