From the Belfast Mercury, 5th June 1855:
A woman named Biddy Fitzgerald cut her throat with razor a day or two since in Ruan, County Clare, She is a married woman and the mother of five children, and was in a desponding state when she attempted the desperate deed. She lies in the county infirmary in precarious state. —Limerick Reporter.
