Family of William Frawley, Clare to NSW Australia

Post by JessGrimshaw » Thu Jul 30, 2015 1:51 pm

Hi I'm Jess, I am trying to find information on the family of William Frawley who married Mary McNamara around 1841. I descend from their son Daniel Frawley who married Hannah (Annie) Barry, they came to Australia around 1879 with their two children. It seems the family come from the area of Newmarket on Fergus and St Mary's RC Church has popped up a few times in my search but I am new at this and I'm not sure where to look to find the old church records to confirm possible family members and I'm not ever sure if the church is still there or if it may be called something else now. If anybody knows the family or has any tips on how/where to look it would be so appreciated as my lack of knowledge has made my search hit a bit of a dead end.

Thank you :)

You may have to scroll slowly through the parish registers to find the children of William Frawley ( sometimes Fraley etc) / Mary McNamara. Looks like the priest abbreviated the McNamara name to McNa in the following record of Fanny Fraley baptised on 14 June 1842 http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls0 ... 7/mode/1up . Good luck with your research. Here's the link to the NLI homepage http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0800
