This posting relates to my grandfather. I can provide further information on the US part of his life to interested parties.I am most interested in learning about Patrick's and his parents and grandparents experience in County Clare prior to 1854, about which little is known. His father was Bartholomew Hays (Hays spelled without an "e" at that time), born 1816, and his mother was Margaret Nagle, born 1821. They were married in 1846 and last lived in the Glasha section of Killalagh before his death in 1849 and her immigration, with Patrick, to the US. Local church records prior to 1856 could not be found for their parish. Three brothers of Bartholomew (first names unknown) were believed to have been transported to Australia although Australian data does not confirm. Any information that may be helpful will be appreciated. Thanks to SM Carberry for this posting
