Tours of Dromoland Castle ?

Post by JPJC » Mon Aug 11, 2014 8:47 am

Hi,

I will be in south-west Co. Clare in October for a wedding and would like to visit Dromoland Castle (near Newmarket-on-Fergus) as my great-great-gandparents worked there in the early 1900s. It's now a hotel/conference centre and golf course. Does anyone know if guided tours are available without having to stay there ? I would not ask, except that the information available on-line is not very helpful and so I though I would call on local knowledge. Thanks, JPC.

Hello JPC. I contacted the hotel and they said "Non guests are more than welcome to come and enjoy the activities on the estate. They will, however, need to pre book these activities." See http://www.dromoland.ie/activities-other.html
