Brick wall: Morgan, Curry, Crowe in Clare

Post by lroselle » Mon Jul 14, 2014 5:17 pm

Looking for advice/information on finding the town/townlands of my gg grandparents Patrick Curry and Morgan Morgan. Both were born in Clare. Patrick (b. abt 1833) came to the US in 1852, Mary (b. abt. 1843) arrived abt. 1860 - and they married in Albany, NY 1861 at St. Joseph's RC Church.

There was a Michael Curry (b. abt. 1837 in Clare) in Albany who may be brother or cousin to Patrick. Michael's Albany death certificate (1912) lists Michael Curry and Mary Crowe as parents. (There is no death certificate for Patrick Curry who died in 1875 in Albany.)

Mary Morgan's father is listed as James Morgan on her 1922 Albany death certificate (no mother's name is listed). She may also be related to a Michael Morgan (b. 1820s in Clare) who first went to Wales (Glamorgan - listed in 1861 census) and then to US. (He is listed as sponsor for baptism of two of her children. She is a witness at the marriage of his daughter Anne.) Michael Morgan's father is William Morgan and is listed as deceased in 1853 marriage record of son.

Any help would be most appreciated.
