Two Clare men named James Farrell in D.C.

Post by smcarberry » Tue Apr 08, 2014 3:25 pm

I happened across two obituaries for Clare men named James Farrell involved with Washington, D.C. The longer article states that one James was in the theatre on April 14, 1865 when President Abraham Lincoln was shot. Thus he was a witness to one of the most infamous assassinations and an American event of enduring significance. That James went to a quiet area of Pennsylvania to live out his days.
