"James P. Moroney, of the Diocese of Philadelphia, at Atlantic City, Pa.[sic, N.J.], aged 33 years, a native of Killokennedy, Co. Clare, Ireland.
He was born on the 18th of November, 1840, at the parish of Killokennedy, County Clare, Ireland, and was brought over to this country in 1852 when a boy. He received his early education at St. Philip's School raider Kev. Father Cantwell, and afterward studied at St. Charles' College, Ellicott's Mills, Md., then at the Preparatory Seminary at Glen Riddle. In 1800, he was sent to the American College, Home, where he remained until 1865, and where he received Holy Orders."
