What else didn't they tell us ?

This time while going through a database of old Philadelphia newspaper images, while using the search phrase "carberry + teacher" in order to pick up more items on my family's eldest daughter Bernadette, I did find an article on her graduating
from teacher training in 1905. I also found some interesting ads placed by her younger brothers in the 1910s about having
pedigreed pups for sale. However, the below article stopped me in my tracks. This incident was not preserved in the family's oral stories and yet their cherished daughter almost did not survive to start school.

Think that I had better keep searching and reading. What else didn't they tell us ?
