A recently uncovered document from 1907 from the papers of John Redmond of the Irish Parliamentary Party, where (his future successor) John Dillon writes " no undertaking was ever given by any ‘responsible member’ of the Party to erect a monument to the late Colonel The O’Gorman Mahon ".
16 years after his burial in the O'Connell Circle in Glasnevin Cemetery they argued over erecting his headstone. The sad thing is this Clare and Irish patriot still has no headstone.
Too long an unmarked grave
