Registers for Ennis, County Clare

Post by Joanne » Sun Nov 25, 2012 1:25 pm

Dear List,
I was wondering if someone could tell me where I might find the parish registers for Ennis, County Clare, if these still exist.
I am searching for the marriage record of a Lambert Wood who married, Eliza, daughter of the late Mr.Michael Canny, Stamp distributor of Ennis.
This came from "The Clare Journal and Ennis Advertiser" of Thursday the 22nd November, 1827, which was the date of the marriage.
I am trying to prove that Lambert Wood belongs to my family and was hoping that the Marriage record may state where he came from.
With many thanks,
Joanne.

Joanne,

A great data base of Ennis marriages and Baptisms exists at the link above. Good luck.

Joanne

If your Lambert Wood was Church of Ireland (ie Protestant) then the Ennis records are on microfilm in the National Archives in Dublin

The centre holds Catholic Parish records on microfilm also. See http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/librar ... ecords.htm.
