Hello Rae.

Have you seen the stuff on the Clare Library site about Ballyvaughan? From the library homepage http://www.clarelibrary.ie/ select Place & Placenames, then select Towns & Villages, then select Alphabetical Listing of Towns and Villages, and you'll see the link there for Ballyvaughan - be sure to follow the link to Historical Background of Ballyvaughan.

Hope that's of some help.
Mike

Hello - one particular document should be of interest - 'Mason's Parochial Survey of 1814'. I think that Ballyvaughan is in the Parish of Abbey - so look at the Clare Library site - Genealogy - Research Support - Civil Parish Index - Abbey Parish. - or next Parish to the west is Gleninagh.

Hi Rae - I see 'BALLYVAGHAN' is in Parish of Drumcreehy - see Civil Parish Index for adjoining parishes.
