GLENOMERA ESTATE

Does anyone know if any records survive from the Arthur Estate of "Glenomera" near Ballyquin Beg? I would be interested in any photos or drawings of the estate or records of staff who worked at the estate or account books etc. before it fell into the hands of the receivers - perhaps any time from say 1820 to 1865 give or take?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried to access those records but it is apparently not possible.

I'm not sure this is relevant, definitely not relevant to your question, but have come across a marriage where residence of Groom is mentioned as "GLENOMORA." I was unable to locate any town or townland of this name, so had just chalked it up to bad writing. Here is the marriage info:

At Scariff RC Parish, with celebrant Fr. M J Kenny:
6 FEB 1875
Stephen Gunning of Glenomora married to Ellen McNamara of Moynoe
Witnesses were Denis Carroll and Honora McNamara

According to Houses of Clare, Glenomera where the Arthurs lived is in the townland of Ballyquin More, parish of Killokennedy.

Thank you both for your replies. Any connection to Glenomera is of interest to me and thank you for the names. In these small places, these names invariably crop up on Baptism Certificates as sponsors etc and I take note of any find in records. Much appreciated.

For the rest of us, setting aside fifteen minutes to read through the numerous entries is very worthwhile. Many of the reported deaths occurred in 1832, due to cholera which struck all social classes. It was perhaps a good year to live in a remote, isolated location. Placename spellings are pretty good, considering this early time period. There is a "Belleview" instead of Belvoir in East Clare.
