Mrs Crotty was the daughter of Michael Markham and Margaret Keane (see 1901 census of Gower North).

Con Colbert's mother was Norah Josephine MacDermott, daughter of the famous schoolteacher Cornelius (Connor) MacDermott and his wife Catherine Breen:

April 26, at Corraclare, county Clare...Michael, second son of Mr. William COLBERT, Gale View, Athea, county Limerick, to Norah Josephine, eldest daughter of Mr. Cornelius MCDERMOTT, Clonreddan, Corraclare, county Clare.
Freeman's Journal 8 May 1876
