Clare-born, 1860 census, AR, IA, KY, ME, MI, NE, OH, VA

Footnote.com has an advanced search feature which when used with the term "county clare" and "clare, ireland" produces
all the 1860 locations in which a censustaker noted places of origin more specific than just the country. There are several
dozen such census records, although I could not find any Clare-born with just a quick review in some of the indicated places.
I will show in this posting the ones for states not having numerous such listings. There are states (IN, NJ, PA) in which particular places had rather large clusters of Clare-born, so I will show those separately to keep down the length of each posting. A prior posting earlier this year provided surnames of Clare-born in Savannah GA as noted in the 1860 census.

Regarding U.S. geo-political jurisdictions: the units are (going from large to small):
state
county
town or township (rural) or district/precinct (very rural) or boro/borough or city (sometimes with a particular ward)
A city with wards was a large one, which in 1860 were mostly along the Eastern seaboard or along the Great Lakes, since
the nation did not yet have a completed coast-to-coast railway system.

Hope this is of some help to family historians who are at a loss to find their families in 1860. Where one Clare family located
might be where others were drawn, if the word reached back home in Clare that a particular iron foundry was hiring or a
new road was being constructed. Also, my quick review missed some of those noted as Clare-born in any jurisdiction in
which I did not do a page by page review.

My method of doing these census extractions:
All individuals are those labeled on a census page as having been born in County Clare, for whom I do not repeat that
label below. I show an Irish county only for the wives who were born in a different county. There are families in which
the censustaker showed that all the children were born in Clare before emigration.

Occupations are omitted except for farmers and skilled trades. Most young people lived in the households of their employers, but that household is not shown below.
