Nicholas Westby, the kind and benevolent landlord (1841)

Post by Paddy Casey » Thu Jun 26, 2008 11:33 am

Here we have a report of Nicholas Westby "...the benevolent and kind landlord...." arriving at Carrigaholt Castle and donating the sum of £5 for the furtherance of the amateur band of that place.

Eight years later the same landlord, who resided at Regents Place in London, was heading the league list of evictions in the County.

Sic transit gloria mundi
