The Freeman's Journal and Daily Commercial Advertiser (Dublin, Ireland), Saturday, November 24, 1821 reports that a man named Wilson of Carbane in the County of Clare was on his way back from Limerick and was stopped near Cratloe by some men who beat out his brains with stones and other weapons. An inquest was held the next day by R.G.Greene Esq., coroner. A verdict of wilful murder was returned.
