This website has compiled lists of convicts transported to Swan River Colony (Western Australia) during years 1850 - 1868. Enter 'Clare' in the search box brings up references to all convicts who were convicted in Clare. Lists age, crime, sentence, marital staus, but not birth place. Also contains physical descriptions of each convict such as height, build, hair/eye colour, distinguishing marks etc.
Names found include Bailey, Brandon, Burke, Clanchy, Crighton, Daly/Daley, Higgins, Hogan, Lacey, Maloney, McMahon, McGrath, Morrissey, Normoyle, Pilkington, Riordan, Ruane, Sullivan.
Almost all transported for sheep or cattle stealing/killing.
The site also has lists of female convicts transported to other Australian colonies, which could be searched the same way.
