Michael O’BRIEN married into the Looney farm in the townland of Knockanalban, Kilmurry-Ibrickane Parish, County Clare, Ireland circa 1850. Michael O’Brien is listed as an occupier in the 1855 Griffith Valuation as having approximately 27 acres. Michael O’Brien’s farm was located in the North West section of the Knockanalban Townland and is known by locals as “Quartermire or Quartermyer”.

Michael O’Brien’s birth place is not know but assumed he was from a neighboring farm in Knockanalban or a townland in the Parish of Kilmurry-Ibrickane.
