John Geran, charged with the murder of John Griffey of Ballykeeneen in the County of Clare about 3 years previously was committed to Ennis gaol on August 7 1787 on a transmit warrant from Dublin. (Morning Chronicle and London Advertiser (London, England), Monday, August 20, 1787)
