The Derby Mercury (England) Wednesday, 13 Aug 1862
Mr. Patrick DILLON, partner in a large drapery establishment in the town of Ennis, county of Clare, was apprehended on Saturday, in that town, for sending a letter to Lord Dunboyne, threatening him with death if he interfered with his tenantry. Dillon was brought before the magistrates, and the informations were taken against him. In the meantime he is out on bail, himself in [pound sign] 400band two sureties in [pound sign] 150 each.

Freeman's Journal (Dublin) 22 Sep 1868
A delicate young man named John TIERNEY,who said he was from Miltown Malbay, county Clare, and a painter by trade, was brought up in custody of [a] Police-constable...charged with having been found, on Saturday night, in the new Augustinian Church, Thomas street...no property... belonging to the building was found on him...the prisoner stated that his reason for entering the building was to find shelter within it, as he was homeless and destitute...

Arrest in Co. Clare Ennis, Thursday
Michael HOGAN, secretary of the Feakle Branch of the Land League, was arrested this morning and brought to Ardsollos, en route to Limerick...Jas DALY of Kilmurry and Daniel O'CONNELL of Miltown Malbay were brought in this morning...and forwarded to Limerick. The three arrests were made under the Coercion Act.

Freeman's Journal 9 Nov 1881
Kilmurry and Ibrickan Branch, county Clare, reports that the arrest under the Coercion Act of Mr. James DALY, two in family, suspect in Limerick Jail; arrested 20th October 1881; charged with intimidating others from paying rent.

Kilkishen Bramch, county Clare, reports arrest under the Coercion Act of John HARDGROVE, Healthmunt, Sixmilebridge; 5 in family; farmer and road constructor; suspect [is in] Galway Jail; charged in warrant with inciting others to intimidate divers [i.e., various] persons from paying rent.

Miltown-Malbay, Clare, reports arrest under said act of Patrick O'CONNELL, carpenter; suspect [is in] Limerick Jail; arrested 4th November, 1881.

Freeman's Journal 9 Feb 1882
Michael O'CALLAGHAN, of Feakle, County Clare, who was arrested under the Coercion Act on a charge of firing at police at Bodyke on June last, arrived in Limerick last evening after being unconditionally discharged from Kilmainham [prison] under a like order.

Miltown-Malbay, Wednesday
Numerous arrests under the Coercion Act...have taken place here this morning...Frank SHANNON, secretary of the late Land League; John M'MAHON, John MORONY, and James BURKE, to Monaghan [prison]; James CLANCY P L G; Mathew CLEARY, Michael CARROLL, and Martin HONAN, to Clonmel [prison]; Thomas M'MAHON, to Omagh; Patrick O'CONNOR, to Limerick...P. GORMAN, P. HILLARY, and Denen HEALY are arrested for the murder of John LENNANE. Dr. Michael O'BRIEN and Anthony HILL are just arrested. The former, while in the hands of the police, cried out, “Three cheers for the Land League.”
