Henry d'Esterre of Rossmanahir robbed (1761)

Lloyd's Evening Post and British Chronicle (London, England), Monday, March 9, 1761 reports that in February 1761 the house of Mr Henry d'Esterre in Rossmanahir in the County of Clare was robbed by a group of villains allegedly led by Matthew Bryan, a butcher of Sixmilebridge. The other villains, all from Mitchelstown in the County of Cork were Robert Hickey, late a soldier; John ODonnell, grasier; William Condon, shoemaker; and Patrick Cleany, butcher.

All the perpetrators were captured. A subsequent report in the Public Advertiser (London, England), Tuesday, August 18, 1761 tells us that John O'Daniel, Michael Condon, and William Cleary were executed at Clonmel for robbing the house of Henry d'Esterre of the County of Clare. These names don't match those in the previous report but maybe that didn't matter in those days as long as some kind of justice was done.
