Major fire in Ennis consumes >50 houses (1749)
The Whitehall Evening Post or London Intelligencer (London, England), Thursday, July 20, 1749 reports that "...a few days ago..." a major fire occurred in Ennis. It was started by a fire in a salthouse. More than 50 houses were consumed and the damage was put at £4,000.
