Post by Paddy Casey » Sun May 04, 2008 8:17 pm

The Daily Gazetteer (London Edition) (London, England), Saturday, August 31, 1745 tells us that Mr Andrew Ryan, Attorney at Law, fell from his Horse on his way back from the Fair at Spanselhill (sic*) in the County of Clare and was trampled to Death by other Horses coming after him.

* Nowadays Spancilhill, Spancil Hill, and variants.
