Take a look at this report from the Freeman's Journal and Daily Commercial Advertiser (Dublin, Ireland), Friday, May 18, 1849. John Molony, 14 years old, is dying, presumably of hunger. He seeks shelter in the cowshed of Peter Gibson of Moneen. What does Peter do ? He has his ploughboy Connor Lynch take John with his horse and cart to the graveyard. John is dumped there and covered with some straw and found next day dead, gnawed by dogs.
