A report here of John Guerin being shot at near Mt Ivers gate on returning from his father's house in Sixmilebridge (Glasgow Herald (Glasgow, Scotland), Friday, June 21, 1822). Guerin said John Barry, late of Cartloe, fired the shot. The police and yeomanry arrested Barry and Michael Collins and they were brought to Ennis gaol. Guerin's life was still in danger at the time of the report.

Could this be the same John Guerin as the John Gearan mentioned in another post on this forum ? He was supposed to have been a spy and had spent some months in the city gaol for swearing in people at the Thomond gate during the disturbances.
