The Daily Gazetteer (London Edition) (London, England), Thursday, January 5, 1738 has heard from Six-mile bridge (Sixmilebridge) in the County of Clare that ".......the Rev.Mr.John Stephens, curate of that parish, was married last Thursday to Miss Alice Ward, a Lady of great Beauty and Fortune".
