Remember when searching for Chicago deaths to see the posting of obituaries grouped
with New Orleans, which has Chicago deaths in a pdf (none of those names appear if you are using the search engine).

Here is a stray Chicago death repeated in an upstate New York newspaper for which the image apparently contained no specific year.

This pdf contains 101 descriptions of Clare-born people published in the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper between 1886 and 1919. There is one "Information Wanted" ad, a few news articles, a couple of obituaries, and the rest are death notices. The words in these will not be searched by this site's search engine due to the the format's being pdf.

I have placed in upper case letters any surname which seems to be that of the decedent's birth family. I have omitted all descriptors like "beloved" and similar words preceding "husband" or "wife" or "father" etc. The listing is done chronologically. Many of these individuals lived until their 60s or 70s. Some have a Clare town, parish, or townland listed. Family members are often mentioned with their current towns, which are spread across the U.S. and a few in Clare. The death notices appear to fully list all children of a decedent, including those who pre-deceased a parent.

Index of Clare surnames in San Francisco Chronicle 1886-1919 pdf already posted

The following are surnames of decedents identified as Clare-born, in the news items of the pdf posted yesterday for the years 1886-1919 in the newspaper San Francisco Chronicle. There are many more surnames provided in these news items, but the text does not specifically link those with Clare although many are Clare-type names. Some of the below surnames are a woman's married name, which may or may not be a name found in Clare.

Also note that my use of "CCI" in the transcription is short-hand for County Clare, Ireland.

After ensuring that this new batch of death notices contains no duplicates of ones previously posted, I made up a new pdf
of death notices and obituaries of Clare-born appearing in newspapers published in Chicago, Illinois in the 1800s through early 1900s. I have left the spelling undisturbed, but have placed surnames (maiden names when possible) in upper case letters. The below list of names are those ones, although the newspaper items usually have other surnames listed as well, for relatives.

How I wish that I had started this string of postings with Illinois having its own solo spot. Nonetheless, for the latest death notices, see below.

Also I am uploading an image of the Chicago death notices posted previously in a pdf attachment in a string of postings which now has mainly Louisiana newspaper items. Now all the Illinois items appear in this string of postings.
