Murder of Thomas Kerin by Thomas Dorney 1832

Post by Paddy Casey » Sat Apr 12, 2008 6:39 am

The Times, Saturday, Mar 09, 1833; pg. 7 tells us that at the Ennis assizes Thomas Dorney was put to the bar for the murder of Thomas Kerin at Arranview on the 18th of December. After protracted investigation of many hours the prisoner was found guilty, prinicipally on the evidence of Morty Cullinan, an approver.

The learned judge, in a most impressive manner, pronounced sentence of death on the prisoner and ordered him to be executed on Saturday.

I wonder if Thomas Dorney was also impressed by the judge's manner.
