McMahon/O'Connell/Carr/Quilty

Hi, I am very new to this, so I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place or should be looking elsewhere! I have been researching the Irish side of my family, and was hoping to find more information about them before they left Ireland for the United States.

From what I have been able to find, my g-g-grandparents were Cornelius McMahon and Mary Carr who were both born in Clare and came to America around the 1850's where they were married in Canada in 1858.

Mary Carr was born in Ireland around 1840 and her parents were Edmond Carr and Johanna Quilty.

Cornelius McMahon was born in Ireland around 1825 and his parents were Cornelius McMahon and Ellen O'Connell.

Any information would be greatly appreciated regarding the best way to begin researching!
