The Hogan murders: Hogan hung, Wing burnt at stake (1732)

From Read's Weekly Journal Or British Gazetteer (London, England), Saturday, April 29, 1732 we learn that one Hogan, a glover, was sentenced to hang at Ennis assizes for the murder of Elizabeth and Mary Hogan (daughter and granddaughter of Mr Henry Stephens of Sixmilebridge).

The ghastly details are described (with relish ?) in the attached article from the Daily Courant (London, England), Tuesday, March 21, 1732.

Hogan the glover was taken directly from the dock to be hung in chains from the said bridge where Katherine Wing and another woman were to be burnt*.

At the places of execution Hogan pleaded innocence and Katherine Wing behaved with a great deal of impudence.
