James Power dies aged 102 in Corofin (1800)

Post by Paddy Casey » Tue Apr 08, 2008 6:19 pm

James Power of Corofin in the County of Clare died aged 102 (Lloyd's Evening Post (London, England), Friday, May 2, 1800). The exact date of death is not given. The report simply says "lately".

Assuming the age is correct, would that have been around 3 times the average life expectancy at that time ?.

If any descendants of that Power family should happen to browse this forum it would be interesting to know whether longevity is/was common in that family.
