What happened to John Ruane and Margaret Lee ?

Newspapers in the UK and US sometimes carried ads from people looking for people, usually relatives, who had emigrated from Ireland and subsequently disappeared without trace. The Boston newspaper ads are a well known example.
Here is a cutting from the Manchester Times (Manchester, England), Friday, September 8, 1893. Michael Steven Lee of Manchester is looking for John Ruane and Margaret Lee who left the parish of Kilkeedy in Co.Clare ".......30 or 40 years ago....", i.e. between 1853-63 and were last heard of in Michigan, USA.
I wonder if any present day readers of this cutting know where they went to.
