Delegates at East Clare meeting of Natl. League (Oct 1890)

Here is another list of names and localities to help Clare family historians nail down ancestors at this point in time. The report entitled "East Clare and the Defence Fund" from the Freeman's Journal and Daily Commercial Advertiser (Dublin, Ireland), Friday, October 24, 1890 covers the convention of delegates appointed by the various "suppressed" branches of the Irish National League in East Clare.

Bishop’s House, Ashline, Ennis, Oct. 22, 1890.
Dear Mr Finucane, I need hardly assure your committee that any just and ligitimate movement for the support or defence of any of our unhappy people without distinction who may be suffering under landlord or other oppression commands my warmest sympathy. I regret, however, that pressure of official duties obliges me to be absent myself from your convention to-morrow, where, as I gather from your kind letter of invitation, the defence of the evicted Irish tenants is to be advocated on those lines. I am, dear Mr Finucane, yours most faithfully, T J McRedmond, Coadjutor Bishop of Kllaloe.
E Finucane, Esq, Ennis.
(Prolonged cheers)

Sheila
